Sybase IQ moved to a stronger position in Gartner's 2008 Magic Quadrant for Data Warehouse DBMS (released on 23 December 2008). Gartner moved Sybase IQ from the Visionary Quadrant to the Challenger Quadrant, where it hovers on the edge of the Leader Quadrant.
According to Gartner, Sybase proved its ability to execute and grow revenue in the marketplace by demonstrating Sybase IQ's ability to solve analytics challenges across key market segments.
These analytics segments include: Reporting Services (Analytics Data Marts); Advanced Analytics (such as risk analysis, fraud detection, predictive analysis); Data Aggregators (organisations which collect, enrich, and sell data); and Real-Time Analytics (RAP - The Trading Edition).
