Enterprise infrastructure company Sybase SA is offering a 40% discount to customers wanting to upgrade from Computer Associates' ERwin modelling suite to Sybase's PowerDesigner version 9.5 Data Architect.
PowerDesigner is an all-in-one enterprise modelling tool and its Data Architect is powerful and easy to use, supporting full data modelling, conceptual, physical and warehouse modelling.
"The offer is aimed at companies evaluating a modelling or design tool, or wanting to upgrade from their existing suite," says Albert Nel, PowerDesigner product manager at Sybase SA.

PowerDesigner facilitates collaboration between analysts, designers, database and application developers, and administrators. Data Architect supports reverse and forward engineering and provides support for more than 40 relational database management systems. There is support for triggers, stored procedures, indexes and external source mapping. Data Architect also has a powerful report generator.
PowerDesigner is extending its data modelling by adding de-normalisation to the data modelling, and has VB scripting as a macro language to help manage the models within PowerDesigner.
