Sybase's Financial Fusion gets top US ranking for online banking solutions

Johannesburg, 01 Aug 2002

Financial Fusion, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sybase Inc, has been ranked as the number one provider of online solutions in a report, 'Ranking the US Vendors of Banking Solutions', published by Celent Communications in June 2002. The ranking is for larger financial institutions with greater than $20 billion and provides an analysis of Internet banking solutions from 11 top vendors.

Factors that lead to Celent's selection of Financial Fusion as the number one provider to large institutions for the second consecutive year included the company's new customer attainment and continuous investments in technology.

"Financial Fusion has made a tremendous investment in continually advancing its Internet banking solutions in order to offer its customers the most up-to-date technology advantages," says Julie Tomlinson, Sybase SA sales and marketing manager. "The company is honoured to be ranked as the number one provider to large financial institutions for the second consecutive year and is committed to continuously offer the best software to financial institutions of all sizes."

Celent Communications, a management consultancy focused on the role of e-commerce and the Internet in the financial services industry, provides its clients with continuous advisory services, keeping banks, brokerage firms and insurance companies up to date on the latest developments in financial services.

According to the Celent report, since its formation, Financial Fusion has expanded its breadth and depth of products and kept its technology on the competitive edge. In respect to the economic challenges facing many vendors in the financial services marketplace, Celent has sited the company's financial viability and strategic relationship with IBM as making Financial Fusion a solid choice for medium and large financial institutions.

"Financial Fusion has concentrated on making its solution flexible to serve large and mid-sized financial institutions with technology that will evolve with the Internet banking market," says Alenka Grealish, industry analyst, Celent Communications. "We look forward to following the company's current down market initiative to extend its customer base into the community bank and credit union space."
