Symantec has appointed Nick Christodoulou as its new country manager for SA, saying he will be responsible for growing the company's consumer, commercial and enterprise business, while strengthening cooperation with partners.

Christodoulou joins Symantec with more than 15 years' experience in IT, having previously served as regional manager of EMC and GM of AxizWorkgroup.

Christodoulou takes over from Gordon Love, who now heads Symantec's Middle East, Turkey and Africa operations.

"We are committed to growing the business, and our dedicated team in-country exists to enable more touchpoints with customers, so we can better serve them and continue to expand our market share," says Love.

Love says Christodoulou's IT knowledge and experience will be key in the company's efforts to grow its market share.

Christodoulou says he looks forward to enabling Symantec's SA to "develop their expertise, while helping consumers and businesses protect and manage their information".

"Raising the level of security awareness for users and educating businesses about how they can better manage critical information to ensure business continuity are top priorities," adds Christodoulou.
