Symantec enhances SME protection

Symantec has enhanced its SME portfolio, offering protection against internal and external threats, business continuity features and improved manageability, reports V3.co.uk.

The Symantec Protection Suite Advanced Business Edition will protect endpoints, provide messaging security, and prevent loss with content filtering at the mail gateway, the firm says.

Real-time intelligence from the cloud-based Symantec Global Intelligence Network will provide early threat warnings and automatic backups to guard against zero-day threats, according to Symantec.

AT&T delivers mobile backup service

AT&T is operating a cloud-based backup service specifically for mobile devices used by SMEs, states eWeek.

Using the AT&T Tech Support 360 Backup and Go service, employees who work remotely won't have to worry about losing documents, says Ebrahim Keshavarz, vice-president of small business product management for AT&T.

In addition to providing automatic file backup in the cloud, the service enables users to collaborate and share documents on the fly.

Online backup best for SMEs

Online backup services have been described as an ideal solution for SMEs, writes Outsourcery.

In an article in Processor, George Crump looks at the various advantages of cloud storage and how it could help SMEs.

He reminds readers that one of the attractive aspects of the technology is that, as well as being provided on a pay-as-you-go basis, it is also scalable, so capacity grows as the business needs more online data backup services.
