Symantec helps customers maximise endpoint security investments

Johannesburg, 10 Oct 2007

Symantec Corporation today announced services and tools to help businesses deploy, integrate, operate and maintain Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 and Symantec Network Access Control 11.0 within their unique IT environments.

Through services offered by Symantec Global Services as well as integrated migration tools that leverage Altiris' powerful endpoint management capabilities, these new offerings help companies of all sizes accelerate roll-outs and increase the benefits of comprehensive endpoint protection.

"Customers often miss opportunities to improve efficiencies when they don't fully use technology solutions to their maximum potential," said Helen Constantinides, Symantec Global Services Manager for Africa. "These offerings can help ensure that customers get the most out of their endpoint security investments."

Deployment, migration integration services

For Symantec Endpoint Protection and Network Access Control environments, Symantec Consulting Services can provide assistance with solution design, deployment, migration, testing, and integration. In addition, Symantec will offer Symantec Endpoint Protection Integration Component, a free tool that leverages the Altiris endpoint management platform and eases the deployment of or migration to Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Residency, managed services

Symantec Endpoint Security Residency Services augment existing staff resources with highly qualified Symantec resident consultants who provide strategic direction, manage global migrations and deployments, develop comprehensive incident handling processes based on best practices, and offer enhanced reporting customised to the client's business.

Symantec Managed Endpoint Security Services enable enterprises to outsource key endpoint security functions to Symantec experts under strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs). These scalable, platform-independent service offerings utilise industry-leading technologies, proven methodologies and best practices to optimise resource utilisation and reduce exposure to IT risk.

These services may be delivered via a combination of onsite activities, on-call assistance and 24x7 remote monitoring, and range from day-to-day operations and support to incident handling and reporting.

Training, support services

Technical training from Symantec Education Services helps companies migrate, implement and manage Symantec Endpoint Protection and Symantec Network Access Control. Courses can be delivered through hands-on classes taught by experienced instructors in Symantec classrooms, or at the customer's site, or via the Symantec Virtual Academy - an online learning environment that combines interactive Web casts with on-demand modules and live mentoring to recreate the classroom experience. A range of enterprise support services plans is also available to keep Symantec endpoint security investments up-to-date and delivering maximum value.
