Symantec recently announced record increases in revenue from electronic resellers in 1999. Symantec's software sales through on-line partners grew 578 percent over the previous year.
In recognition of this achievement, Symantec has presented their second annual E-Commerce Partner Awards to three on-line partners whose sales performance during 1999 contributed to the record increase in revenues for Symantec.
The 1999 E-Commerce Award winners were:
- Electronic Reseller of the Year: buy.com
- Electronic Distributor of the Year: Digital River
- Deal of the Year: Amazon.com
As the fastest growing and most productive Symantec on-line retail partner, buy.com was presented the Electronic Reseller of the Year award. Digital River was awarded the Electronic Distributor of the Year award for showing an ability to successfully execute Symantec programs and promotions, as well as for continuing to lead the way in electronic software distribution (ESD). Finally, Symantec's partnership with Amazon.com was named Deal of the Year based on the strong sales of Symantec products resulting from the launch of Amazon.com's software site in November 1999.
"Symantec presents these awards to recognise its e-commerce partners who have done outstanding work, and have shown excellent service and innovation," says Jako Voges, Marketing Manager of Symantec's Middle East and Africa region. "These are also companies that have proven an ability to drive revenue and have shown potential to contribute to future revenue growth for Symantec."
Symantec's Web presence is one of the strongest in the industry among software vendors. The company's online store, www.symantecstore.com, was voted one of the 10 best software sites by Soft Letter, a newsletter focused on trends and strategies of the software publishing industry.
