Symantec revamps company logo

Symantec has changed its company logo, combining the Symantec name with the check mark from its recent VeriSign acquisition.

giant, the VeriSign check mark is the most recognised symbol of trust online with up to 250 million impressions every day on more than 100 000 unique Web sites in 160 countries.

The logo, comprising the check mark within a circle, will be the common symbol used across Symantec brands, including the Norton consumer brand and the Symantec Hosted Services brand.

“The logo unifies the breadth of Symantec's resources and amplifies Symantec's recognition across all customer segments from the individual consumer to the largest global organisation,” says the company.

In addition, Symantec says the logo signals its vision to bring together and device , information protection, context and relevance and the benefits from leveraging the cloud.

The company's previous logo was created in 2000 and has served the company for over a decade. During that period, Symantec says it expanded its portfolio and increased its value and relevance to its customers by bringing together security, storage and systems management.
