Symantec Ghost and Symantec AntiVirus were named Best of the Best in the 2005 Redmond Magazine Readers' Choice Survey in Virginia, USA. Redmond Magazine, formerly Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine (MCP Magazine), is the independent voice of the Microsoft IT community with a readership comprised of IT professionals.
Symantec Ghost led the drive imaging category with 59.5% of the vote - "a landslide victory," according to Redmond Magazine's editors - and the largest percentage of votes of any product in any category. Symantec AntiVirus won the anti-virus category with 43.7% of the vote, the third highest percentage of votes of any product in any category.
"The big winner this year was Symantec's Ghost, which earned more votes than any other product in our survey," editors wrote.
"There was little surprise in the favourite anti-virus utility," editors continued. "Symantec AntiVirus was the big winner here."

Nearly 2 200 Microsoft IT professionals participated in the survey, signalling which products they considered their trusted partners by voting for their favourites in more than 40 categories.
