Symetrix Business Solutions has announced the acquisition of Datrix Solutions' Navision Solution Centre division on 1 September 2000. Datrix Solutions NSC division will now be incorporated into Symetrix Business Solutions a subsidiary of Symetrix Information Technologies (Pty) Ltd.
Datrix Solutions will, however, retain an equity holding in Symetrix Business Solutions. Neville Levinthal, Managing Director of Symetrix Business Solutions, states that Datrix Solutions has valuable management experience that is complemented with a wealth of experience in the implementation of Navision's financial packages. "We need to keep in mind that Datrix Solutions has a successful track record as a Navision Software Solutions Centre (NSC) and therefore has extensive skills in and knowledge about Navision Software's products and how to implement them."
Datrix Solutions managing director Wayne Smith says this is an exciting opportunity which combines Datrix and Symetrix's knowledge and resources to create a formidable new Navision Solution Centre in South Africa. He says another result of this deal is Datrix becoming Symetrix's premier software development partner.

According to Keith Mullan, managing director at Navision Software SA, "In the IT industry over the next few years it is important that our resellers diversify because it is obvious that smaller resellers are not going to cope. Symetrix Business Solutions is a typical example of a company that is growing itself for the future to provide a turnkey solution."

Symetrix Business Solutions' acquisition of the Datrix NSC has been a strategic business decision to boost the company's existing spectrum of Navision Software solutions and to create a platform that will exponentially grow the company, both internally in terms of its resources, and externally through its local and multinational client base. Levinthal adds that "Given the strength of Navision Software's products and our renewed capacity and capability to successfully implement, we are confident that we will be providing our existing and new clients with a comprehensive business solution that surpasses client expectations in terms of product choice, delivery and overall professionalism."
