SYNAQ, the managed Linux services and open source solutions company, has developed a channel partner programme for its flagship Pinpoint SecureMail application that enables resellers and ISPs to provide a value-added service to their customers, earn recurring revenue and build relationships, but with absolutely no risk.
This follows the recent launch of Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0, a powerful anti-virus, anti-spam, content control and anti-phishing solution that acts as a first line of defence between the public Internet and a company's e-mail servers.
Sam Gelbart, director: Software Services at SYNAQ, says Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0 incorporates an array of new features specifically requested by users of the powerful software, including faster download and response times. SYNAQ has addressed this issue by choosing to host Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0 locally.
At present, most high-end e-mail security solutions utilised by corporate South Africa are hosted overseas.
“SYNAQ could have waited to see what impact the new Seacom cable would have on local Internet performance. However, by hosting Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0 locally, we have effectively eliminated the performance problems associated with international bandwidth availability immediately and potentially into the future,” he explains.
“This, combined with the advanced Web 2.0 and AJAX technologies we have incorporated into the software, has resulted in a security application that is incredibly fast, always up-to-date and extremely quick and easy to use.”
According to Gelbart, resellers and ISPs can offer Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0 as a white branded outsourced value-added service without having to invest in additional capex or high-level security skills and competencies.
Among the benefits of Pinpoint SecureMail 2.0 are:
* Immediate protection: A simple MX record change and within less then 24 hours you're protected.
* Hassle-free: No more patches, or downloading updates. SYNAQ constantly updates the software at its secure central servers without any intervention required by resellers or ISPs.
* No upfront investment: delivered as a software service, so there's no need to invest in software, additional infrastructure or people to manage the e-mail security infrastructure.
* No escape: multiple concurrent virus scanners automatically update themselves with the latest malware and virus signatures, ensuring that no viruses slip through to the reseller's, ISP's or customer's network.
* Saves bandwidth: eliminates virtually all of the wasteful and potentially harmful traffic that overloads networks.
* Advanced detection techniques: identifies over 95% of spam using multiple techniques, including highly advanced heuristics, optical character recognition (OCR) and other sophisticated methodologies used by spammers.
* Highly configurable: allows for the use of thousands of different rules and configurations for any combination of users or domains.
* Easy to use: a fully functional, easy-to-use Web administration interface provides detailed management reports and statistics, and allows the release of blocked e-mails.
* Compatible: works with all current mail infrastructures regardless of operating system and hardware.
* Quarantines e-mail: saves all quarantined spam e-mails for up to 30 days, for later analysis if required.
* Added redundancy: spooling of e-mail provided for up to 14 days to ensure that no e-mail is ever lost - even if your mail infrastructure is down!
* Highly scalable: processes millions of e-mails per day.
