Synergy Computing, which provides analytic solutions to the local and international markets, has announced it is extending its portfolio of technologies with the establishment of a reseller partnership with local software developer Fraxion.
According to Andrew Connold, Synergy managing director, the company presently delivers budgeting and forecasting solutions based on technology provided by IDU, also a South African software developer.
"Fraxion offers a technology that closely complements its [IDU's] Concept solution, which we have successfully implemented for a number of enterprise customers. This fit made the addition of Fraxion to our stable logical."
Stanton Jandrell, CEO of Fraxion, says Synergy's pedigree as a provider of advanced management solutions makes the company an ideal partner for its solutions. "Creating a culture of fiscal discipline is critical to maintaining and improving the long-term health of any company. As a trusted provider of management tools, Synergy has both the understanding of the principles of effective business management as well the knowledge of a range of tools that help executives to do so," he says.
Connold draws particular attention to Fraxion's Spend Management tool, a key feature of which is the ability to manage corporate spend across many axes. "This tool is highly effective in guiding company employees to preferred suppliers, which is particularly pertinent in the present economic environment, where organisations are being encouraged to procure from BEE compliant companies," he says.
Furthermore, Connold says the Fraxion tool provides detailed budgetary and spend analysis to managers, with built-in workflow to handle approvals processes.
"This enables companies to take better control of their budgeting and to manage spend more effectively. It also introduces better corporate governance over spending," he adds.
Spend Management aids in reducing the number of suppliers for businesses by guiding all employees to approved providers. "This results in a considerable reduction in paper costs related to invoicing, postage and handling, while also reducing the administrative overheads; in one case an organisation using the tool reduced its suppliers from some 13 000 to just 5 000," explains Connold.
"This is a hand in glove fit with IDU Concept, and as such is a very good fit for Synergy's solutions," he adds.
There is considerable demand for this type of solution both locally and internationally, and Connold expects it to be well accepted by existing and potentially new Synergy clients across its nationwide presence.
Jandrell notes that Fraxion's partner network has been steadily growing; proving the demand for effective spend management solutions, the company also launched a United Kingdom office in 2004, and has enjoyed positive results from this initiative.
Synergy Computing designs, implements and supports enterprise-wide business intelligence solutions from data extraction to corporate performance management automation.
The company's expertise is founded on more than 25 years of providing strategic information advantage. Its national presence is supported by offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Synergy Computing is 81.5% owned by JSE-listed black investment company, Sekunajalo.
