In a fiercely competitive environment, companies need to remain firmly in the driver's seat, and to help facilitate this, Synergy BI will host a series of breakfasts in Cape Town and Durban, putting on display the latest IBM Cognos software and giving both customers and prospects a view of the business analytics roadmap they can expect in the next few years.
Attendees of the sponsored breakfast sessions will witness the launch of Cognos Insight, and glean valuable information from international authority on business analytics and ace presenter, Oliver Oursin - Worldwide Product, Business Intelligence and EMEA Presales Executive, IBM Business Analytics - in South Africa on a return visit.
“We are increasingly seeing the coming together of outstanding technology to deliver an integrated solution, bringing the worlds of finance and general business together,” says Christo Bredenkamp, MD of Synergy BI, adding that the company has seen considerable success in the past 18 months as this possibility has been explored and made real to its customers.
“At the breakfasts, customers and prospects will not only be given a BI and FPM technology update, but will also be privy to Cognos Insight, a breakthrough new offering that empowers business users to interact and explore data, build scenario models and share insights. What we also like about Cognos Insight is that it can be used individually on your desktop, or can be part of an Express or Enterprise deployment.
“To attempt to list all its distinguishing features would detract from the vast potential that this new product harbours, but to whet the appetite, I would like to mention four, and they are: drag-and-drop dashboard creation; instant response and flexibility from the in-memory analytic engine; write-back cache capability, which allows you to input your own data, comparisons and annotations; and powerful scenario modelling with built-in rules and data spreading,” says Bredenkamp.
The events will be held in:
* Cape Town, on 9 March, at the Westin Hotel, Convention Square, on Lower Long Street; and
* Durban, on 15 March, at the Durban Country Club, Walter Gilbert Street.
