Synergy Computing achieves Cognos Premier Partner status

Johannesburg, 19 Nov 2001

Synergy Computing, one of SA's leading business intelligence (BI) software solutions specialists, has achieved Cognos Premier Partner status, one of the highest achievements in Cognos' global operations.

Synergy is now one of only two Cognos partners in SA to have achieved Premier Partner status. The award was presented at the SA Cognos User Group in Johannesburg last week.

"This is a major milestone in our 24-year history with Cognos and something we have worked very hard to achieve," said Andrew Connold, managing director of Synergy Computing. "It recognises the significant investments we have made as well as the efforts we have put in to Synergy to ensure we can meet our Cognos customer needs on an on-going basis."

Synergy had to meet stringent criteria to qualify for Premier Partner Status. These included the establishment of a national sales and support infrastructure, training facilities manned by Cognos-certified personnel and technical support. In addition, the company had to meet a set level of sales volumes.

Peter Gerson, managing director, Cognos South Africa, who announced Synergy's new partner status at the Cognos User Group, said: "Premier Partnership recognises the high standard of Synergy's nation-wide infrastructure, its outstanding capabilities and the technical excellence of its teams and the Cognos solutions they implement.

"It is not something that our global partners achieve easily, so it is a real honour and acknowledges Synergy's capability to deliver enterprise-class BI solutions," he added.

Synergy is one of only a few BI solutions implementers in SA totally focused on delivering Cognos-based data analysis, reporting and data mart and data warehousing BI solutions. This focus enabled the company to develop a depth of consulting and implementation expertise and set up a comprehensive range of training and education services.

"This deep focus has made us a leader in our field. We are now the BI solutions supplier of choice for more than 350 companies. It is through servicing such a large client base over the years that we have been able to take our processes and solutions to a very high level.

"As a Premier Partner, we will continue to hone our business and ensure the end-to-end BI solutions we deliver become the tools with which our customer can realise the business performance improvements they need for on-going growth and profitability," concludes Connold.
