With the recent acquisition of Sunstone Computer Systems, business intelligence solution provider specialist Synergy Computing has become a Microsoft Certified Partner.
According to Andrew Connold, managing director of Synergy Computing, this achievement is as a result of skills that it gained through the acquisition as well as further development of the staff of the combined entity.
"With the advances being made by Microsoft on the business intelligence front, we felt that certification on its platforms was a necessary move for our business. It gives our clients access to a wider range of cost-effective solution options and complements our traditional Cognos BI offerings," he comments.
Furthermore, Connold says the company has had considerable experience working with the Microsoft SQL Server database. "Microsoft technologies are widely deployed not only at the desktop level, but in the back-end, especially in the mid-market. There is an increasing requirement for BI platforms at this level, and with its BI technologies, Microsoft delivers on this demand with a cost-effective toolset," he says.
Because it is a highly affordable BI platform, Connold also believes Microsoft BI tools will drive intelligence further into many organisations. "While BI was once the preserve of senior management, it is increasingly adding value at lower levels of companies, particularly where the sophistication of more advanced tools is not required," he notes.
"We anticipate strong demand for this new competency within our existing client base as well as from new opportunities. We're also working to achieve Gold status within a year," Connold concludes.
