SYSDBA, a leading provider of visionary IT services and solutions in southern Africa, is proud to announce that it has concluded a partnership agreement with Atlantis Computing, becoming the first reseller of Atlantis ILIO software in southern Africa.
Atlantis ILIO is a unique and innovative VDI storage optimisation and performance acceleration technology that fundamentally changes the economics and performance characteristics of VDI by intelligently optimising how the Microsoft Windows operating system interacts with VDI storage. It supports most of the major VDI offerings in the market today.
“VDI has the potential to revolutionise enterprise desktop computing by lowering the total cost of ownership, increasing security and compliance and making the desktop more agile. However, many organisations have deployed VDI only to realise that their VDI architecture could not scale without either degrading desktop performance or requiring a massive additional investment in computing, network and storage infrastructure,” says Chris Bamber, Managing Director of SYSDBA. “Atlantis ILIO improves the response times and storage capability of VDI, optimising storage usage and enabling organisations to take advantage of the benefits of VDI without sacrificing on performance or incurring large additional expense.”
Atlantis ILIO is easy and cost-effective to implement and addresses the major issues that have traditionally hampered successful deployment of VDI solutions. With Atlantis ILIO, organisations deploying VDI solutions will be able to use up to 20 times less storage capacity and optimise IO traffic. It also offers faster boot and login times, better application performance and anti-virus scanning, and through image layering, enables users to install applications and plug-ins and create virtual desktops with any application.
“This solution offers our customers a number of benefits when it comes to implementing VDI solutions. It enables them to use any storage, not just high cost solutions as required by traditional VDI deployments, and also optimises this storage so it is used more efficiently, which dramatically cuts the capital expense required to implement VDI. It also boosts desktop performance, enabling better levels of user acceptance, greater user satisfaction and better productivity. Atlantis ILIO does not replace a VDI solution, it simply supplements the offering and makes these deployments far more attractive, efficient and cost-effective than before,” says Richard Trickey, CTO of SYSDBA.
“SYSDBA is all about creating value for our customers and we are always looking to partner with organisations that offer additional or new value to solutions. Atlantis Computing offers an innovative solution to a current problem, and enables us to enhance our enterprise offering to our customers,” Bamber concludes. “Atlantis Computing also partners with several of our key partners, including VMware and 3PAR, ensuring that we can deliver a comprehensive solution that meets the needs and requirements of our customers.”
Atlantis ILIO is now available from SYSDBA.
