Take ET home with Toshiba's new line of home cinema projectors

Johannesburg, 01 Feb 2007

Toshiba's new home cinema projectors are lightweight, easy to set-up, and capable of delivering razor-sharp, high-contrast images.

The et10 and et20, which are available locally from Rectron, give you enormous flexibility when positioning them, thanks to ESP technology.

No, these projectors can't read minds; ESP (Extremely Short Projection distance) means these home projectors are capable of delivering an image diagonal of 0.65m at 20cm throw distance, and up to 2.90m at 1.60m throw distance.

The et20 comes with outputs for high-quality Dolby Pro Logic 5.1 surround sound, and is bundled with an integrated DVD player. Resolutions of 854 x 480 pixels and high 2000:1 contrast guarantee high-quality, richly detailed viewing in true 16:9 cinema format.

The et20 offers Composite Video, Component Video and S-Video connections, and has an HDMI interface, a 3.5 mini coax connector and a headphone socket for audio input/output. It also comes with a Scart adapter, which carries the video, audio and system control signals from VCRs and TVs.

What makes the et20 a real pleasure to use is the fact that it doesn't need a specific backdrop and can be projected onto any smooth, white surface, which makes this handy unit ideal for use with gaming consoles such as the Xbox360 or the eagerly anticipated PlayStation 3.

Says JP Botha, Toshiba Product Manager at Rectron: "These projectors are perfectly suited for the home cinema and gaming markets, and are extremely competitively priced when you consider what you would pay for an equivalent LCD screen with an image diagonal of 2.90m."
