Take Solutions, HP unveil SME cloud

solution offering, in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard (HP) India Sales, Business Standard reports.

This is one of the first partnerships by HP under HP CloudAgile, a platform were IT providers partner HP to offer hosting, managed and cloud-based services to clients, in the as a service (SaaS) mode, according to HP India officials.

The cloud services would help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to easily adopt information technology, said Neelam Dhawan, MD, HP India.

The Hindu quotes HR Srinivasan, vice-chairman, Take Solutions, as saying: “While our strength lies in offering this 'take10' cloud service to clients in our life sciences and supply chain management verticals, we are also targeting the SME and large enterprise market. We are pricing it such that, on average, SMEs will spend around Rs 2 lakh a year for a 20-user package.

“This service will prove to be a very useful value-add for our clients.”

While the global cloud computing market is estimated to be $150 billion, the company places the addressable Indian market for SaaS solutions at $50 million. The partnership with HP would also take care of security concerns for employees who bring their own devices to access the cloud.
