TallyGenicom 6300 series printers offer `workhorse` printing at leading price/performance

TallyCom, local representative for the TallyGenicom brand in SA, has announced the arrival of the 6306 and 6312 line printers, delivering print speeds of 600 and 1 200 lines per minute, with the same reliability and best-in-class price/performance TallyGenicom has become renowned for worldwide.

"The two new units are the first and only line printers available to customers today that feature `Auto-Gap` technology. This assists users with the setup process and general printer usage by automatically setting the optimum print gap in order to deliver outstanding print quality based on the form thickness. The printers also offer automatic form profiling, a programmable feature for forms with varying thickness that provides unsurpassed print quality and consistency," says David Terry, general manager of TallyCom.

"In terms of monthly print volumes, the units are true champions, consistently coping with workloads of up to 345 000 pages per month," Terry continues. "This series makes use of a straight paper path ensuring that paper jams are avoided and also features a Ribbon Monitor which allows users to accurately gauge ribbon status, so that consumables can be ordered in a timely fashion before requiring a replacement."

The new 6300 range supports TallyGenicom`s patented SmartRibbon technology that became available earlier this year.

"This new technology increases the print volumes per cartridge to 250 million characters and due to the clean-hands cartridge, operators are not required to touch the actual ribbon fabric at replacement time ensuring a clean and trouble-free removal and installation," Terry explains.

Terry says the new printers are also designed to work in a variety of environments, featuring a wide range of connectivity options that include 10/100 Ethernet and Twinax/Coax, both of which can be upgraded with IPDS.

"The introduction of the 6300 continues TallyGenicom`s Power & Performance Unleashed program," Terry says. "Following last year`s merging of the Tally and Genicom brands, the new brand is undertaking an aggressive growth strategy that leverages the combined strength of the two brands in providing and servicing business-critical printers. The 6300 series is the first of many new product introductions TallyGenicom expects over the coming year," Terry concludes.

The TallyGenicom 6300 series printers` estimated retail price starts at R36 000 including VAT.
