It`s all about style: most of the purchases we make have an element of style associated with them. Whether it`s clothes, a car or a cellphone, if it doesn`t look right, chances are the technical specifications are not going to be enough to make the sale.
When it comes to IT equipment, IBM has released a new range of monitors designed not only to perform optimally, but also to satisfy everybody`s sense of style and space.
"IBM`s new ThinkVision monitors adhere to stringent safety and ergonomic standards to help provide a comfortable, productive work environment," says Mike Botes, GM of the IBM division at Tarsus Technologies.
"ThinkVision monitors employ several elements of IBM ThinkVantage Design: the stand on select models of ThinkVision flat panel monitors has a sturdy platform for stability, and the smooth lift, tilt and swivel movement enhances usability."
The ThinkVision L170p is an all-purpose 17-inch flat panel LCD monitor with an ergonomic stand, newly designed on-screen display (OSD) and convenient direct-access buttons for automatic image setup. "It is a great replacement for a 17- or 19-inch CRT monitor," adds Botes.
The L170p features a wide viewing angle (170^0/170^0) to enable collaborative viewing of its native 1280 x 1024 resolution display.
Additionally, companies` investments in older technologies are protected by a hybrid connection that allows analogue or digital systems to attach to the monitor. Also, the system`s dual input allows for the simultaneous attachment of two systems to help increase user productivity.
IBM is also introducing two new ThinkVision CRT monitors. The 17-inch C170 and 19-inch C190 also incorporate ThinkVantage design features such as exteriors designed to match IBM ThinkCentre systems, and quick, easy adjustments using simplified on-screen displays. At the forefront of CRT technology, both monitors use flat CRT screens to minimise distortion and glare, and have been awarded either the TCO-99 or TCO-03 environmental label.
"Designed and tested to complement IBM desktop and notebook computers, ThinkVision monitors provide attractive form and superior function to meet PC and laptop users` viewing needs," concludes Botes, "and Tarsus is geared up to provide customers with stock as well as support for the entire range."
