Adrian Delport, business manager for Hewlett-Packard at Tarsus Technologies, has revealed that newly announced Gigabit Ethernet-over-copper HP ProCurve 9300 1000Base-T Modules are soon to be available from Tarsus Technologies.
According to him, the HP ProCurve 9300 1000Base-T Module is the latest member of the HP ProCurve 9300 Routing Switch family of modules and offers eight 1000Base-T ports, allowing connections over Category 5 or better copper UTP cable at up to 100m.
"This module is an idea low-cost, high-bandwidth solution for switch-to-switch or switch-to-server connections and -- at a price two-thirds the cost of the HP ProCurve 9300 Routing Switch Gigabit-SX solution -- the module`s connections are expected to replace the use of Gigabit-SX connections for distances under 100m," says Delport
The new module broadens Hewlett-Packard`s already considerable offerings in the networking space, giving HP customers a copper Gigabit solution for the core of their networks. "The HP ProCurve 9300 perfectly complements the wiring closet copper Gigabit solution for the HP ProCurve Switch 4000M, which has been shipping since October," adds Delport.
A full range of HP ProCurve Networking products, including Ethernet hubs and switches, routing switches and network-management applications, are available from Tarsus Technologies. The HP ProCurve 9300 1000Base-T Modules are available immediately.
