Tarsus announces new HP multifunction devices for SME market

Johannesburg, 20 Apr 2005

Tarsus Technologies has announced the arrival of the HP LaserJet 4345mfp series, incorporating the ability to print, copy, scan-to-e-mail, send analogue fax and perform document finishing in one compact unit.

"The 4345 series offers a complete office solution for any small to medium enterprise," says Drikus van der Walt, product manager at Tarsus Technologies.

"Users can now enjoy the added cost-saving bonus of a laser printer that can copy, scan as well as do double-sided printing, boosting office productivity while the total cost of ownership plummets."

The series can also be fully configured to suit customers` needs. It has a choice of advanced output options that include a stapler/stacker with the ability to staple documents of up to 30 pages in length and stack up to 500 sheets. A three-bin mailbox for separating print, copy and fax functions, assigning mailboxes for users, or stacking up to 700 sheets is also available.

"The 4345 series is also highly reliable and simple to use," continues Van der Walt. "When combining the HP Jetdirect Fast Ethernet embedded print server with the HP Web Jetadmin software, the 4345 becomes easy to manage and even includes remote installation."

It also includes an embedded Web server, designed for one-to-one device management and remote diagnostics. It will also send e-mail alerts and provide job tracking and accounting.

Van der Walt says the 4345mfp series can also be supplemented with optional HP AutoStore 2 software that will effortlessly route information to document management applications such as Microsoft`s SharePoint Portal Server, Microsoft Exchange and Lotus Notes.

"Implementation of these units has been simplified and they now seamlessly integrate into the customer`s office environment with very little setup time," he says.

Versatile and efficient, the series provides high-quality laser printing and copying at up to 43 A4 pages per minute plus hi-resolution scanning and faxing, all controlled from the intuitive graphical control panel or via the integrated Web server.

"When considering cohesive printing solutions for the demands of the small and medium business, the 4345mfp is an obvious choice," he concludes.
