Tarsus Technologies has announced the establishment of a self-funded HP competency centre, aimed at providing a vital resource SMB resellers can make use of for proof of concept testing, general familiarisation and training on HP`s various server technologies.
Says Greg Pothitos, HP server product manager at Tarsus: "We see the competency centre as a fundamental tool for our SMB channel. Smaller resellers generally don`t have the budget and infrastructure required to conduct proof of concept testing, compatibility checking and engineer training using in-house resources. The competency centre provides them with a facility to test the compatibility of configurations that involve third-party hardware and software. Resellers can now verify the performance of client applications and check the feasibility of proposed solutions before arriving on-site at clients.
"In terms of hardware, we`ve already installed 1-series, 2-series and 3-series server hardware in the competency centre and in the coming months, plan to follow this up with the integration of blade servers and storage solutions," Pothitos continues.
Besides the hardware residing in this facility, Tarsus has also placed two of its own engineers at the resellers` disposal.
