Tarsus Technologies has introduced the PowerStruXure Type A - the latest addition to APC`s high availability product offering.
APC describes its PowerStruXure Type A as an `easy-to-implement` solution for small to mid-sized data centres and higher density IT equipment for IP Telephony and storage applications.
"This is a scalable high-end solution with a powerful cable management system. It allows users to implement a large data centre UPS solution and expand on it easily," says Darryl Squara, APC business manager at Tarsus Technologies, the value-added distribution arm of JSE-listed MB Technologies.
The PowerStruXure Type A applications include quick design and build-out of new small data centres and complete single rack/power solutions for high power density IT equipment.
IT managers who wish to build a new data centre with up to 12 racks can use this APC solution as a complete infrastructure system. All an electrician needs to do is to wire the input of the Symmetra UPS - everything else is contained within the racks.
The APC NetShelter VX makes up the base enclosure and it comes with a pre-installed Symmetra RM frame (6 or 12kVA).
"The PowerStruXure Type A has all the features of the NetShelter VX and the Symmetra RM," says Squara, "There are also the added benefits of lower installation costs, better cord and plug management and reduced service costs."
