Tarsus investing in the future of SA

Johannesburg, 20 Feb 2004

Concerned with the plight of young South Africans, Tarsus Technologies has taken matters into its own hands to promote the development of the youth of this country.

For the sixth consecutive year, Tarsus Technologies has made an annual contribution of R40 000 to its community, this year splitting this amount between the Salvation Army and Cotlands.

Guy Whitcroft, MD of Tarsus, says: "We respect the work of all charity organisations but were specifically drawn to these organisations because of their exceptional involvement and commitment to SA`s youth."

Allison Gallo, Corporate and Trust Manager at Cotlands, says: "As the AIDS epidemic advances, we are faced with an increasing number of orphans. Cotlands accepts the challenge of caring for these children. This is the motivation for our latest project, the Respite Orphan Care Programme, where the generous donation of R20 000, received from Tarsus Technologies, will be utilised toward a new facility for orphaned children.

"The purpose of this programme is to give orphans a safe, loving and caring place of safety until they are reunited with extended family members or are placed back into the community through adoption or foster care," continues Gallo.

"At Tarsus we are aware of our country`s needs and continue to strive to find news ways of giving back to the community that has given us so much," concludes Whitcroft.
