Tarsus provides ProLiant power from G2 Server

In the tradition of increased flexibility and manageability through density optimised DL Servers from Compaq, the new HP introduces the ProLiant DL580 Generation 2 server. This enterprise-level, robust and versatile server is available through Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of JSE-listed MB Technologies.

"Ideal for multi-server deployments, the ProLiant DL580 G2 is an enterprise class, four-way server designed for environments that require maximum computing power and robust high availability features in a versatile, rack-optimised form factor," says Greg Pothitos, the new HP`s ESG product manager at Tarsus Technologies.

"Based on industry standard Xeon Processor MP, DDR SDRAM, PCI-X, Wide Ultra3 SCSI, and Gigabit networking technology, the ProLiant DL580 G2 provides the highest levels of performance demanded by today`s computer-intensive applications," Pothitos continues. These business-critical applications are typically found in the service provider, financial/banking, distribution, manufacturing, services and insurance environments, where downtime can ill be afforded.

High availability features, including Advanced Memory Protection technology, an integrated RAID controller, a duplex drive cage and hot-plug redundant components, guarantee maximum uptime for business-critical environments.
