Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of MB Technologies, is pleased to announce the availability of the new IBMeServer xSeries 225 entry-level servers with 2.0 or 2.4GHz Xeon processors.
"These universal tower servers are positioned between the xSeries 220 and the xSeries 235, and offer flexibility for entry servers supporting entry and workgroup applications," says Drikus van der Walt, IBM product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
Two-way, Xeon-based servers, the xSeries 225s are designed to accommodate future expansion with features that can be easily installed by the user. These features include an easy-access chassis, hot-swap hard disk drives, an integrated Ethernet controller with Wake on LAN and optional rack-mount capability.
"This expansion capability is especially useful to enterprise customers whose applications include interconnected or standalone workgroup file servers, entry-application servers, Internet servers, or branch office file servers running e-mail and office suites," Van der Walt continues.
The xSeries 225 servers offer immense storage capacity, redundant power models and enhanced processing power as well as high-speed memory, high-bandwidth PCI buses and Ultra320 SCSI data storage.
"The combination of power, flexibility, and ease-of-use make the xSeries 225 server an excellent choice for small business customers and workgroup applications," adds Van der Walt.
