Tarsus Technologies has been recognised as the top new Epson distributor in a region covering Scandinavia, Europe and Africa, and presented with the company`s Award for Outstanding Achievement as the Best Newcomer for 1997/1998.
Michael Hunt, Director of International Sales at Epson UK, said at Epson`s Monte Carlo banquet that Tarsus had showed "extraordinary commitment" to the product since its appointment a little over a year ago, evidenced by the sales success of Epson in the South African market - as shown by triple digit growth in inkjet printer sales.
Hans Dummer, Epson South Africa Country Manager, said that Tarsus` professionalism, coupled its strong product knowledge and marketing had helped make Epson a major player in the local market.
Epson, he said, has doubled its market share in South Africa and had tripled volume of product moved. Epson`s Stylus range, which features Micro-Piezo Crystal technology, continues to lead the technology race in the printer sector.
"We`re aiming to repeat this performance in 1998 with continued focus from Tarsus," Dummer said. "Colour printing is the future - and we`ve already hit the track running."
