Tarsus will be working closely with South African resellers to minimise any disruption to business which might be caused by Y2K.
To this end, special arrangements have been made for the New Year public holiday period - specifically 1-3 Jan, 2000. From 4 Jan, we will be fully staffed once again.
Stock availability
We anticipate having adequate to good stocks of most products, with a few exceptions which are due to limited availability on a global or regional basis. These exceptions have the subject of a separate communique.
The Cape Town, Durban and P.E. branches will hold some local stock of critical items in accordance with requests from resellers in those regions. This will facilitate extremely quick delivery in these regions.
In Johannesburg, warehouse and delivery staff will be on call to ensure despatch of any products in stock within one hour.
Sales
We will have staff available in the Johannesburg office from 09:00 through 12:00 on both Saturday 1st and Monday 3rd of January. These staff will be able to process orders as necessary, and will facilitate delivery as required. They will also have access to necessary credit control and management staff to ensure invoicing can be effected.
The Durban, Cape Town and P.E. branches will be making staffing arrangements in accordance with the requests of the regional resellers.
