Tarsus Technologies, the distribution arm of MB Technologies, has announced availability of IBM`s latest servers and peripherals. The new lineup features a package of fibre based, tuned-for-management network storage devices that forms an important layer in IBM`s SAN-ready initiative.
The Netfinity 8500R 8-way server is the latest release from IBM and features a 550MHz Intel Pentium III Xeon processor. The 8500R is a profusion-based, 8-way server with 2MB L2 Cache Support for 16GB of 100MHz ECC memory. It has twelve available hot-swap/hot-add Active PCI adapter slots and 8U rack height. In addition, the 8500R is cluster optimised and includes an integrated Netfinity Advanced Systems Management PCI adapter.
