Tarsus Technologies has recently launched its own business-focused brand of PCs. According to Guy Whitcroft, MD of Tarsus Technologies - the distribution arm of MB Technologies - Tarsus has branded the PCs under its own name as a mark of good faith in the quality and reliability of all components used.
"Quality is our main differentiator, and we have not sacrificed that quality for price. There is a gap in the market that exists for a range of PCs that offers the reliability of best-of-breed components, but at an affordable and realistic price. It`s hassle-free computing for the corporate or home user." The Tarsus PC range has two product lines: Enterprise and Discovery.
Enterprise, for the high-end power user, is based on Intel`s Pentium II processor and features an 8MB graphics accelerator card. The Discovery line, based on Intel`s Celeron processor, is aimed at the entry-level business workstation market. Both series are bundled with Samsung monitors, available in 14- to 21-inch options. Tarsus has also noted a trend towards larger monitors, and has opted to assemble the PCs in mini-tower configuration, allowing the box to be stored under the desk to accommodate the larger monitor footprint on the desk. The range comes with a three-year warranty which reduces maintenance costs and decreases the total cost of ownership.
