Tarsus Technologies recommends Compaq Evo desktop D500 for maximum stability

Johannesburg, 08 Nov 2001

Tarsus Technologies, the distribution arm of JSE-listed MB Technologies, has announced the availability of the CompaqEvo Desktop D500 series. A selection of Evo Desktops D500 models are available in globally predefined models that are now also available in SA.

"The Evo Desktop D500 series delivers an remarkable combination of manageability, serviceability and consistency for large businesses and global enterprises that require value in lowest total cost of ownership (TCO), maximum stability and manageability," declares Terence Barter, Compaq product manager at Tarsus Technologies.

"For those professionals who are looking for the ultimate balance between performance and technology, the Evo Desktop D500 series is the most manageable desktop solution," he continues. The Evo D500 models offer the latest in processing technologies with Intel Pentium 4 processors and 845 chipsets, SMART III hard drives, and up to 512MB SDRAM.

Furthermore, a choice of NVIDIA or Matrox 4x AGP graphic controllers, integrated NIC and audio with internal speakers, 48x Max CD-ROM, 16x CD-RW, and 16x DVD-ROM with RAM read, provide the performance capabilities you expect from an Evo D500 Series PC.

Barter adds that the Evo Desktop D500 Series is designed to provide a consistent, stable platform, so that IT and procurement managers can plan consistent system deployments over time periods of up to 12 months. "Having a consistent platform means that you can integrate Evo Desktop D500 PCs at your own pace without having to qualify and test the image each time you deploy new units."

Barter concludes: "Compaq`s commitment to offering stable and consistent products reduces the need to re-qualify models, which extend product lifecycles and reduces IT cost and support requirements."
