Tarsus has announced that it has terminated its distribution agreement with Olicom with immediate effect.
Tarsus MD, Guy Whitcroft, said, "With the closure of Olicom`s local office last year, and the simultaneous restructuring of Olicom in Europe, we have encountered enormous difficulties in securing product. Agreements which were in place between Tarsus and Olicom regarding stocking issues were not being kept and we were unable to find anybody at Olicom in Europe who was able to rectify matters."
"The continued uncertainty over the future of Olicom in general, and our relationship in particular, was causing a great deal of distress to our channel partners - particularly as `goalposts kept moving.` We were therefore left with no alternative but to terminate the relationship as we believed it unfair to keep our channel partners in continuing suspense."
Whitcroft went on to say that he sincerely regretted the fact that Tarsus was terminating the relationship, but was assured that Nick Muller, in his new consulting role to Olicom, would be able to provide continuing support to Olicom users in the country. "We could not have terminated the relationship without having the assurance of continuing support for the Olicom customers," he said.
Whitcroft said that Tarsus was committed to providing full networking solutions, with top brands, to the South African reseller market and hinted that major developments in this arena could be expected shortly.
