Tarsus Technologies is ready to market the latest printer technology developed by the new HP. The Photosmart photo printers are hot off the shelf and are part of the new HP`s individuality-based, unique lifestyle printer and imaging product offering.
The HP Photosmart 7150 and the HP Photosmart 7350 are the first releases from the new HP following an extensive three-year R&D and manufacturing effort designed to make technology a more natural extension of how people live and work.
"The new HP`s products are engineered explicitly for simplicity and ease-of-use. This has resulted in feature-rich printers that meet end-users` demands in terms of user-friendliness and functionality," says Traci Maynard, HP IPG manager at Tarsus Technologies.
The new HP`s Photosmart 7350 is now available from Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of JSE-listed MB Technologies and replaces the Photosmart P1115 and P1215.
"The latest Photosmarts are the new HP`s standard photo printers designed to print photos from a computer for users who own a scanner or who wish to manipulate the images captured with a digital camera," adds Maynard. The printers use a new six-ink printing system that provides true-to-life photo quality with the new HP`s Photoret IV precision technology, a major advancement over award-winning Photoret III.
The printers make use of a new print cartridge set - including black, colour and photo pens - and uses a colour and a photo print cartridge. It can also be turned into a versatile printer by replacing the photo cartridge with the optional black cartridge. The six-ink system is achieved by the colour cartridge (cyan, magenta, yellow) working in conjunction with the photo cartridge (light cyan, light magenta, dye-based black) to offer a magnitude of colour shades and photo quality.
"When the Photo cartridge and the colour are used together, the print speed increases to 14ppm black and 1ppm in colour," explains Maynard. "With the in-box print cartridges, the speeds are respectively 9 and 10ppm."
Photo-friendly features of the printers include a front USB port for digital camera connectivity and a dedicated photo tray that allows for easy printing of traditional-looking borderless 10x15 cm pictures.
The Photosmart 7350 features four-card slots, which cover all existing memory card formats and allow the printer to print directly the images stored on a camera`s memory card.
"These printers have been specifically designed for people who want to print quality photos at home from their PC or Mac or even direct from an HP digital camera. Now end-users are able to extend the horizons of possibilities," concludes Maynard.
