HP`s three new ProLiant ML300 series servers, available through Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of MB Technologies, deliver enterprise-class functionality and enable growing businesses to do more with less.
Small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) face tough competition and this is compounded by constantly changing business rules. Tarsus Technologies believes that it is crucial to invest in technology that can withstand these challenges and grow with a business.
ProLiant servers have long been synonymous with maximum internal storage and I/O flexibility, and outstanding tower and rack deployment options.
"The new servers, all available from Tarsus Technologies, are additions to the trusted ProLiant ML line," says Greg Pothitos, HP product manager at Tarsus Technologies.
"The ProLiant ML310 is ideal for growing businesses running sophisticated small-business applications and also for branch offices of larger organisations requiring a platform for single-function solutions."
This Pentium 4-based server makes use of the same chassis as the ML330 to deliver ProLiant reliability along with best-in-class data protection and easy management. It would typically be used as a file/print/fax server with shared Web and e-mail access for users, for key applications such as CRM, ERP or SCM, and for groupware or small databases.
"The ProLiant ML350 Generation 3 is an expandable rack or tower platform server that delivers affordable two-way performance and essential availability to corporate workgroups and growing businesses," Pothitos explains. "It features a 2GHz or 2.2GHz processor, up from the maximum 1.4GHz of the G2 version."
State-of-the-art technologies, including Intel Xeon processors, PCI-X, DDR memory and the Grand Champions LE chipset, provide the processing power demanded by IT professionals. Engineered for maximum reliability, the ProLiant ML350 G3 delivers optimal availability with six hot-plug drive bays and an optional hot-plug redundant power supply to minimise expensive downtime. The ProLiant ML350 has an easy-to-service 5U form factor that is highly expandable for flexible configuration and headroom for the future.
The refined 2.4GHz ProLiant ML370 Generation 3 is the most versatile two-way expansion server for corporate data centres and remote sites, offering rapid deployment solutions and high availability features in a simple-to-service 5U design.
"Optimised for both tower and rack environments, the new ProLiant ML370 Generation 3 delivers a wide variety of configuration flexibility," says Pothitos. Powered by Intel Xeon with Hyper-threading technology, the five-peer PCI-X bus architecture and 200-MHz DDR ECC memory keep bottlenecks to a minimum and deliver the processing power needed to satisfy an organisation`s entire range of computing requirements. Tool-free access to system components as well as rapid deployment tools and powerful integrated remote management reduce ownership hassles and lower costs.
"In addition, growing businesses can adapt to change quickly and easily with the deployment and management tools in ProLiant Essentials software packs designed for use with the servers for the ultimate in adaptive infrastructure. Saving on human and financial resources is simple with affordable server solutions that are easy to set-up, maintenance-free and scaled to a business`s specific needs," Pothitos concludes.
