Meanwhile, the company also unveiled business solutions based on cloud computing called iON, fully integrated information technology for the SMEs.
Using a pay-per-use business model, iON would help SMEs leverage world-class technology solutions as a key business differentiator.
It removes the need for SMEs to invest in IT assets or retain scarce IT talent leading them to save 40% on costs.
The Hindu Business Line quotes N Chandrasekaran, CEO and MD of TCS saying: “We have already run a pilot and have over 130 clients today...we want to increase the number of clients in India to 1 000, preferably in one year.”
Industry estimates project that SMEs will spend close to $48.5 billion on IT by 2015.
According to the Indian Express, TCS says iON has been developed to deliver IT in the 3G service model to SMEs.
