TCM reaffirms BEE rating as per new DTI codes

Technology Corporate Management (TCM) has renewed its BEE EmpowerDEX "A" rating, adhering to the new Department of Trade and Industry`s Codes of Good Practice. The rating is valid for the period November 2005 to November 2006.

TCM is rated as a Level Four Contributor as per the official DTI codes released in June this year.

"Being recognised as a Level Four Contributor allows 100 precent of our spend with TCM to be recognised as BEE procurement," said Ashley Weeden, TCM marketing executive, "and reaffirms our commitment to broad-based black economic empowerment."

TCM`s BEE consortium is headed by TCM corporate sales director Iqbal Hassim.

The effective BEE equity stake is 25,1% with Hassim managing TCM`s BEE .

Hassim says TCM`s BEE strategy is much more than just equity employment and control. "Our BEE strategy is broad based. We continually evaluate staff expectations and work towards meeting these goals, while making our BEE staff more effective. Growth of our employees is the foundation of our BEE strategy."

TCM has partnered with the State Information Technology Agency (SITA) to provide on-site training for students who have completed SITA`s Youth Internship Programme. A group of 14 students initially joined TCM in May this year as part of SITA`s onsite training programme. The number of students recruited from SITA now exeeds 20.
