Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has been selected as strategic IT partner to the Social Security Institute of Mexico (IMSS), in a four year contract valued at over $200 million, says Consultant News.
With over 370 000 employees and providing coverage to over 50 million Mexican citizens, IMSS is the largest organisation of its kind in Latin America.
TCS will provide end-to-end IT services, including application maintenance and support, custom software development, business analysis services, management of strategic IT programmes and value added initiatives for the organisation`s affiliates.
EC sets deadline
The European Commission said the deadline for its inquiry into AT&T`s proposed $1 billion outsourcing agreement with IBM is set for 18 December, states CNN Money.
The deal will be examined under the commission`s `simplified procedure` for which it does not have major competition concerns.
Under the terms of the agreement, IBM will outsource the delivery and management of much of its global telecommunications services operations to AT&T.
Joint venture services Qatar
Ali Bin Ali (ABA) Technology Solutions has formed a joint venture with IntelDyne Solutions to provide outsourcing services in IT to the Qatar market, reports Gulf Times.
The agreement was signed by ABA Group ICT GM Mohamad Ebrik and IntelDyne Solutions MD M Murali Krishna.
"The opportunities that the Qatar market has been providing, along with the pace of its growth in diversified activities, have prompted us to make this strategic move to join hands with a global player with varied experience in outsourcing solutions that best fit the IT needs of the businesses in Doha," Ebrik said.
