There are few companies that have upset the apple cart as much in the first two years of their existence as The Claims Company from the Dex group.
The Claims Company has taken a firm stand in support of the rights and position of brokers. This has led to brokers being given greater recognition by insurers as key role players and independent entrepreneurs.
At the same time, Dex's technology has been further developed and refined, thereby reducing brokers' administrative red tape to a minimum. Technological solutions have been found to speed up everything that can delay the process. This means a broker can now see and use his/her own information online.
"Though developments are taking place in the field throughout the world, we in South Africa have developed a unique Integrated Reconciliation (IR) formula. This consolidates all the possible role players' different needs and structures into a single system, while at the same time fully protecting every role player's information," says Sharon Castro Carballo, The Claims Company's executive director.
"For many a broker, it's a nightmare trying to meet the client's expectations, because of the masses of administrative work and red-tape required for certain insurers," Castro Carballo says.
Now the broker can manage his policy administration, finance and claims through a single solution via Dex. This means more control, which naturally improves satisfaction levels and the broker's profitability.
Since the administration for the claims is done on the same Dex system, the broker has access to daily, up-to-date information for informed decision-making and feedback to his clients.
"What we need these days are specialist claims handlers, not like a utility back in rugby, trying to be a little bit of everything," Castro Carballo says.
