Technology Builders and MERANT announce integration of Caliber-RM with MERANT Egility E-SCM solution

Technology Builders, Inc. (TBI) and MERANT today announced the integration of Caliber-RM with MERANT`s Egility enterprise software configuration management (E-SCM) solution. By bringing together the disciplines of requirements management (RM) and software configuration management (SCM), software development teams now are able to view at-a-glance traceability links between requirements and objects under version control. Project managers can use this new capability to evaluate more precisely the impact of a requirement change on project scope, schedule and budget. This integration includes Caliber-RM with MERANT PVCS Version Manager and PVCS DimensionsTM.

Caliber-RM`s Live-Link integration with MERANT PVCS Version Manager and Dimensions allows project teams to trace requirements to any object managed within the SCM tool. In addition, SCM objects can be viewed, modified and confirmed from within Caliber-RM, providing project members with a single consistent view of the development process. When a requirement changes, traceability links are marked automatically as suspect, allowing for easy identification of other artifacts that may be affected by the change. Through this integrated life cycle approach, Caliber-RM also provides customers with a traceability diagram that graphically depicts both direct and indirect links for user-selected requirements.
