The Internet Solution (IS) has announced that Teklab has signed the first Value Added Partner (VAP) agreement on its new channel programme, launched last week.
Ian Rowland, Teklab MD, says, "As a member of IS` VAP programme, Teklab will be able to break down the cost barriers that prevent small businesses from being on-line permanently. With committed focus on our core market we understand the difficulties that face small business in today`s fast economy. We will now be able to offer customised Internet connectivity solutions and more importantly we will be the first line of support regarding our customers connectivity."
Teklab`s core focus is to work with organisations that have between five and fifty computers in their company, developing technology infrastructure and business solutions. IS has traditionally focused on Internet connectivity for the corporate market, but in recent months has released a range of innovative new connectivity solutions, ideal for small to medium enterprises. Derek Wilcocks, MD of IS, says, "The combination of lower cost permanent Internet access through our Access on Demand service and the success of our VAP programme will open up the benefits of the business Internet to an entirely new market."
Says Wilcocks, "Through this program, IS is partnering network and system integrators that can assist the small and medium enterprise in setting up the fundamental information technology systems that are required for permanent Internet access. Partners will be able to earn a steady income stream by selling and supporting IS business connectivity. They will also be able to remain focused on their core business, while increasing the range of their service offerings to encompass a complete Internet service underpinned by IS` world-class Internet infrastructure."
Says Rowland, "We at Teklab feel that no small business can afford not to have these solutions. With the opportunity that IS has given us we can develop a customer`s business by building a stable technology infrastructure, enhancing and integrating business processes, introducing a World Wide Web presence and helping them to enter the e-commerce millennium."
The Internet Solution
The Internet Solution (IS) is South Africa`s largest corporate Internet service provider. A subsidiary of Dimension Data, South Africa`s largest Information Technology company, IS provides the building blocks that underpin the online business and electronic commerce environment. IS provides its clients with premium underlying access, hosting, security and other value-added IP services. IS was founded in 1993, and has built its reputation on innovation, dynamism and technical market leadership.
Teklab
The original inception of Teklab began with the realisation of its founders that there was a growing need for a networking company that was accessible to the SOHO (small office, home office) environment. With this niche in mind Teklab was formed with a team that was synergistically proficient across the IT spectrum. In time it was realised that there was a gap in the market for networking and office automation in the corporate world. Teklab has now moved its focus to not only providing for the SOHO market, but also to provide systems re-engineering and network integration to larger SMME companies. Teklab is a Microsoft Certified Solution Provider (MCSP), an Intel Authorised Solution Provider (IASP) and now an IS Value Added Partner (VAP)
