Telapex licenses AXS-One Internet solutions to automate self-service processes

Johannesburg, 01 Feb 2001

AXS-One Inc., a leading global provider of e-business solutions, is pleased to announce that long-term customer Telapex, Inc. has licensed AXS-One`s AXSPoint solutions for use in a pilot to automate its self-service processes, and begin providing more timely and meaningful information to all its customers.

Telapex is a privately held company and is parent to several companies within the telecommunications industry, including those providing cellular, local phone, cable television, long-distance and services.

In December 2000, Telapex agreed to work with AXS-One on plans to automate several business processes in the company`s financial and sales force organisations. This includes providing customers with self-service and with simple access to heavily relied-upon information. To support this effort, AXS-One will develop a pilot to incorporate the requirements of Telapex`s customers; internal sales force, outside commercial and/or residential customers; and current business processes into a solution that is fast, Internet-ready and easily deployable, with immediate access to business information.

"Telapex is a strong supporter of AXS-One. We`ve relied upon the company over the years to provide solutions that continue to streamline our business processes; ultimately giving Telapex an edge in providing our customers with outstanding service,`` commented Larry Morrison, CFO, Telapex. "This project is another step toward responding to today`s customer demands for immediate access to information specifically online. Telapex will also improve its personnel utilisation rate, an important factor in delivering the level of customer service excellence required in today`s competitive marketplace.``

Within Telapex`s financial systems department, it has become competitively critical to provide inquiring customers with information related to their account statements online. Today, Telapex companies service more than 200,000 customers. The current inquiry response process is tedious and time consuming; although the process yields adequate information, it requires updating. With the implementation of the AXS-One solution, Telapex will automate providing customers with accurate, easy to understand account statements online, without having to revamp its existing systems infrastructure.

Telapex also plans to deploy the AXS-One solution in its sales organisation, enabling its internal sales force to merge sales and prospective customer from varying sources; including the company`s data warehouse, spreadsheets and financial systems; for sophisticated information and analysis of sales, commissions, prospects and more.

The Telapex pilot is estimated for roll out in the second quarter of 2001.
