TelePassport reduces cost of popular local telephone cost-cutting software

Johannesburg, 19 Jul 2005

TelePassport has restructured the pricing of its proprietary telephone management system software, Pablo, making it even more cost-effective for its customers.

According to Rob Brandt, Product Manager at TelePassport, the software can now be purchased outright instead of paying monthly rental fees. He adds: "We changed the model in response to growing customer demand; because of the incredible cost savings that Pablo generates, the initial purchase is paid off within a matter of months and allows this product to generate an impressive ROI, better than anything in its class."

Always looking for ways in which South African businesses can maximise the efficiency of their telecommunication spend, TelePassport has simultaneously released the latest version upgrade of Pablo, version 3.3.9, that makes it even easier for a company to control their telephone spend.

Says Brandt: "This version offers even more advanced reporting options that allow managers to really drill down into their company`s telephone spend and identify areas of telephone abuse and areas where savings can be made."

"Pablo embraces a unique approach to telephone management as it puts the daily management of call spend into the hands of the individual telephone user. It is basically a gauge for each user and their line manager, showing live call usage and comparing this in real-time to preset budgets per user, department and the company as a whole."

In this respect it differs fundamentally from traditional "telephone management systems" whose reports are typically only generated at month-end (which is far too late) and are also generally reliant on one or two data-empowered managers to draw the necessary reports. Pablo eclipses this old-fashioned approach, instead supplying all users with live call usage information and allowing them to manage their own call spend.

"The real strength," Brandt points out, "is that managers are only alerted and involved when necessary, in other words if users approach their call limits and begin exceeding their budget, thus allowing real `Telephone Management by Exception` and freeing managers to concentrate on the more important and revenue-generating aspects of their function."

Pablo includes advanced reporting options for managers to take a high level view of their company`s call spend and then expand the view into each area. Pablo version 3.3.9 also includes group-based reporting, which allows a manager in one office to analyse the telephone spend in another, remote office.

Brandt concludes: "Pablo can generate savings of as much as 50% across an entire telephone bill. Add TelePassport`s market-leading least-cost routing solutions into the picture, and companies are able to slice off a very large portion of their monthly expenses with no loss of functionality or service."
