Clearly mobile security is a long-term challenge that needs continuous intervention, says TeleSign.

Mobile Identity company TeleSign has entered into a partnership with telecom provider Swisscom to develop and deliver new identity services to enable greater online account , verify financial and e-commerce transactions, and prevent for customers.

This partnership will leverage Swisscom's identity insights and feed into TeleSign's verification application program interfaces and the and analytics behind phone numbers around the world.

Dheeraj Soni, head of OTT services Swisscom, says identity services are the latest addition in the company's over-the-top portfolio where it aspires to link Telecom identity with online accounts such as banking or social networking to prevent fraud, and with e-commerce sites and apps to enable fast and secure checkouts.

"We looked to TeleSign as the pioneer in the mobile identity space to be our first partner in launching our Identity Service portfolio.

"By working with TeleSign, we can bring offerings to market which will make our customers' experience significantly safer and more convenient."

Steve Jillings, CEO TeleSign, says partnering with trusted telecoms like Swisscom is a key part of TeleSign's strategy of providing local expertise to the company's global customer base.

Clearly mobile security is a long-term challenge that needs continuous intervention, notes Jillings. It must be on every organisation's high priority list for the next year or two as the need to get a handle on this challenge will only grow with increased reliance on mobile e-commerce, he adds.

The new services will become available in 2016.

Also, TeleSign has recently signed an agreement with Telef'onica to deliver services to address account security and fraud prevention for enterprises and service providers in financial services, e-commerce, cloud and social media.

The partnership between TeleSign and Telefonica was founded to introduce the first in a series of next generation Mobile Identity services, says TeleSign in a statement.

These mobile identity solutions will jointly leverage TeleSign's products and infrastructure, along with Telef?nica's consent-based Insights, to increase account security, reduce fraud, and improve customer experience for consumers, while helping to manage costs for service providers, it adds.

The two companies are currently working on agreements with other fraud prevention specialists, additional mobile network operators as well as other banks and credit card companies to ensure customers across the globe (regardless of their card issuer or mobile operator) can benefit from this service, notes TeleSign.
