Telkom gets in the holiday mood

Telkom has introduced a promotional international calling card to help keep friends and relatives around the world in touch over the holiday season.

There are three calling cards, namely Call Americas, Call Australasia and Call Europe, all of which will be available at selected Telkom direct shops, customer service branches and retail outlets selling Telkom card products.

The Call Americas allows calls to Canada and the US, Call Australasia offers calls to Australia and New Zealand, and Call Europe will let the user call the UK, Ireland, France, Monaco, Germany, Italy, Greece, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland.

According to Telkom, the card promotion runs from 1 December 2004 until 31 May 2005, with calls to fixed-line destinations costing R1.20 per minute and calls to mobile destinations costing R2.25 per minute, and a minimum charge of 99c per call is also applicable.

The cost of each card, which can be used from any tone-dial phone, is R100, offering users around 83 minutes of talk time to the listed fixed-line destinations, and around 44 minutes talk time to cellphones.
