Telkom today introduced a broadband communication service for business that will enable companies to transmit large volumes of error-free information at high speeds over their wide area networks (WANs) with reliable connections.
Branded as Telkom ATM Express, the new digital transmission service for WANs provides speeds from 2 Megabits per second up to 155 Megabits per second across the Asynchronous Transfer Mode platform (ATM).
Telkom ATM Express serves as an integral component of the Integrated Virtual Private Network (IVPN) service offering which allows for the convergence of voice, data, video, e-commerce and web-services across a single medium.
ATM Express will initially be introduced to the major metropolitan areas of South Africa in the Variable Bit Rate (VBR) standard.
