Telkom has received significant recognition from SA`s largest private Internet service provider (ISP), @tlantic, which has chosen Telkom to take care of its Internet access needs.
The two parties have signed a R22 million deal for three years in terms of which Telkom will provide @tlantic Internet access services via its South African Internet eXchange (SAIX) service.
The deal demonstrates the high regard the IT industry has for Telkom`s Internet capabilities, and bodes well for the company`s efforts to be the provider of choice for end-to-end communication solutions.
"When our one year-contract with Telkom came up for renewal, we looked around and evaluated various ASPs. But in the end we chose Telkom," said @lantic Managing Director, Neels Fourie.
"We believe that for long-term success and stability, and for us to remain competitive, one must partner with a large player that has a secure and stable network."
Fourie started @tlantic as a computer supplier in 1996. He subsequently expanded the business to add value when the Internet took hold in SA, becoming one of the country`s first ISPs on the SAIX network.
