TempWorks unveils updates

TempWorks , a US provider of staffing and recruiting software, has unveiled major updates to its DocCentre and WebCentre products, according to PRWeb.

DocCentre allows applicants to electronically complete and sign documents at a kiosk, shortening the on-boarding process, eliminating paper, and saving recruiters' valuable time.

New WebCentre features will allow electronic access to employee tax forms, saving WebCentre users' several dollars per employee on year-end expenses.

Financial crisis boosts HR software

Companies in the Philippines are expected to boost human resource (HR) infrastructure amid the continuing impact of the US financial crisis on their operations, according to Oracle, says Inquirer.net.

"The US financial situation may get companies to align their operations by understanding their people better to fully utilise their capacity," said Tim Darton, GM of Oracle Asia Pacific Human Capital Management.

Darton said while corporate operational expenditures are also expected to go down, companies will not stop buying IT infrastructure, they will only be more selective in purchasing hardware and software.

HR spending holds steady

The bottom isn't falling out of the HR technology market, according to a recent survey from the International Association for Human Resources Information Management professional group, states Workforce Management.

Forty-two percent of the nearly 210 respondents reported that their HR IT budgets will remain the same in 2009 as in 2008, the association said.

Another 21% of participants said budgets will increase by an average of 23%, while 37% said their budgets will decrease by a median of 15%.
