New and revolutionary intelligent video editing solutions will be presented by Edutain Distribution at the upcoming Computer Faire 2001.
Edutain Distribution and subsidiary Alien Technologies will showcase many of the products of the exclusive distributorships they represent in this country at this year`s Computer Faire; among these are FAST-Dazzle, SIGMA Designs and Darim Vision.
South African distributors of the FAST-Dazzle range of video editing and capturing products, Edutain/Alien have announced a new Snazzi product that will be demonstrated at this year`s Computer Faire.
Launched in Europe earlier this year, DV.now AV is a video editing solution equipped with the new Adobe Premiere 6.0 full version and a new version 1.6 of FAST.forward. It is also compatible with Windows 2000 and Ulead`s Media Studio Pro 6.0. The new version 1.6 of FAST.forward enables multi-file capturing, a function which speeds up the transfer of video to hard disk. User-friendly guidance has been built in as wizards in this version, so that all adjustments are clearly available in templates.
Another Snazzi product that will be on show at the faire is the Hollywood DV Bridge, launched in South Africa earlier this year. This product enables the quick and easy transfer of analogue and digital video material between PC and video camera - right on the desktop.
Hollywood DV-Bridge is an external converter and is a universal product that can be used with a PC or a Macintosh. It works directly with Apple`s iMovie software, Final Cut Pro software and most other leading DV video editing solutions.
Another interesting feature of the Hollywood DV-Bridge is that it can be used without a computer; the converter box is inserted between an analogue and a digital camcorder, and the video material is then transferred in either format. This makes it extremely useful as a portable application, especially when travelling.
SIGMA Designs, an acknowledged leader in the fast-growing digital video market, specialises in digital video encoding and decoding for the PC DVD market, which enables video streaming over corporate intranets and extranets, and for the emerging set-top box information appliance market. Sigma is a driving force in the advancement of digital video technology used in high-speed, high-bandwidth transmission for business, home and educational markets.
Darim Vision specialises in video surveillance products. The standard PC Snoop contains a special security screensaver that, just like any other screen saver, is activated when the PC is idle; the screensaver is a dark, blank screen, making the PC look as if it is turned off. As with any screen saver, there is an option to specify a password and an activation period. Using any camera attached to the computer, the PC Snoop screen saver monitors the space around it and may record video of any guest or intruder and activate an alarm, if needed. In addition, the professional version of PC Snoop can continuously operate in the background without disturbing work or slowing down routine computer tasks
