The E-mail Corporation joins Sun developer connection

Johannesburg, 25 Jan 2002

The E-mail Corporation, SA's specialist in Secure Electronic Document Delivery (SEDD), has announced that its FinMail Product Suite has been extended to support the Sun Solaris 8 Operating Environment and has been implemented at Standard Bank.

"Our decision to port to Sun was a natural evolution for us, allowing us to expand our market reach. Sun Solaris servers have been highly recognised by the market for their robustness and scalability," says Mike Wright, CEO of The E-mail Corporation.

Standard Bank launched its secure e-mail statement service using FinMail on the Solaris platform.

FinMail provides for the strong encryption of confidential information via e-mail. Prior to each send, all statements are encrypted, ensuring that the intended recipient is the only one that is able to open and read the statement.

A significant benefit of FinMail is that it is very easy to use. Customers receive a small decoder to open their statements. This decoder is in the form of a one-click self-installation system that integrates seamlessly into existing e-mail systems without disrupting current desktops, network devices, directories or application services. Thereafter, clients need only enter a username and password to open and read their statements.

"FinMail moves us closer to a paperless environment by ensuring that confidential information sent across the Internet remains confidential," says Wright.
